These are all the common questions we get.
Q. Is it still on?
A. The event is on every Tuesday indefinitely; check meetup for location changes. Check the latest meeting using the following link. https://www.meetup.com/bangkok-entrepreneurs-angel-investors-and-wantrepreneurs/ (we did cancel the meeting once when it landed on New years eve. so please check meetup)
(if you message me on WhatsApp asking for the dates and times of the meeting (every week, Tuesday, 6 pm – 10 pm), I will just send this FAQ because it’s got the meetup link above, which you can check in case we have a venue change.)
Q. Is there a paid inner circle?
A. I understand how price filters work and how it saves people a lot of time by only being with the most serious people. We could possibly do something like this later with a separate group and monthly meetup, but we are all busy doing our own things, and it’s not a way we planned to make money.
Q. Can I participate in your group?
A. Yes, anyone can come; no qualifications are needed.
Q. I didn’t register. Can I come? Can you register me? Do I need to confirm?
A. At this stage, you do not need to register or confirm, but it is preferred.
Q. What niches are the entrepreneuers?
A. We have no data on the vast majority of the people who come to the meeting on a weekly basis.
Q. What type of people usually attend?
A. We aim for entrepreneurs, investors, and start-ups. There is no particular type.
Q. Are traders welcome?
A. We welcome traders, but we don’t want traders asking members for money for trades.
Q. Are real estate agents welcome?
A. We do not want direct sales, but you are welcome to come if you are networking or looking for business connections.
Q. How many people turn up?
A. We have around 40-100 people turn up throughout the night.
Q. I am going to be late, is that ok?
A. You can turn up anytime between 6 pm and 10 pm. People start leaving around 9.30 pm – 10.30 pm
Q. What are you discussing?
A. We do hope that people talk business-related stuff, but people talk about what they want, so it’s difficult to answer what people discuss.
Q. Do you offer paid speaking opportunities?
A. We do not have people speaking at our events
Q. Do we have a WhatsApp group?
A. Please attend a few times and wait for an invite.
Q. Can I find investors?
A. We have people that want to invest, we also plan on a pitching event sometimes, please let one of the hosts know. It’s vital to come often and build some trust. Most people come once and look for investment and disappear. You are welcome to tell people you need investments (for your own business), providing it’s a real business, not MLM/scam/pyramid/trading/trading bots.
Q. Do I need to talk and introduce myself?
A. You aren’t expected to talk in front of a group. Lots of people with social anxieties are worried about first attendance. There is no pressure to talk to anyone. Feel free to introduce yourself to whoever makes you feel comfortable. You can leave anytime you want with no expectations.
Q. How do I find the group?
A. We will be at Burbrit Craft Beer @Sukhumvit 22, Bangkok. Please ask the staff if you can’t find us. Most of them know us as “Meetup” Please do check the meetup group for changes.
The hosts do this meetup to connect with people; all 3 of them make good money; please respect their time; none of them makes money from the drink sales at the event. We get many people coming to ask us about company set-up and questions about visas and work permits. Please speak to a lawyer about this. We are not a public service for people to save money, and none of us are experts on it. Our service is for you to do networking. (please bear in mind we get this so often, hence why I have made a note) Bryan Flowers owns a law firm, which you are welcome to use. https://anglosiamlegal.com/
Q. What services do the hosts offer the group?
A. We do not sell consulting services, but Patrick and Bryan own Siam Business Brokers; they can help you find businesses for sale, find places for investments, and invest with their own money.
Q. Are people from adult industries welcome?
A. Yes, we welcome all types of businesses. (providing they are not scams, MLM or pyramid schemes.)
More details. (taken from our meetup page)
It’s just a social networking event. There is no set theme or requirements to stand up and speak. Just come along and introduce yourself. Ask for Bryan Flowers, Patrick or Julian. (we are a team organising this event) You are welcome to drink alcohol at the event, but most people don’t drink alcohol at the meeting.
The event is free, but please buy a few drinks because we are using a restaurant/bar for free.
Please, no direct sales. You can ask for or give advice or ask for or give connections. Anyone pressuring or trying to sell will not be welcome.
Please do not waste people’s time by coming to ask our members what to do on holiday and where to hang out. We are trying to meet serious people, and our time is valuable.
If you are one of these people who go to every meetup event to hang out. This probably isn’t the group for you. We prefer smaller numbers and real entrepreneurs and investors.
Around 40-100 people come to our meetings weekly, and around 50% are new faces and are passing through Thailand. Many people have told us that our group has the best people to meet.
It’s worth coming often to meet new people and get worldwide connections. I don’t think many entrepreneur groups in the world have so many nationalities travelling through; we are blessed to be in Bangkok.
Sorry for all the rules, but we are trying to protect our members who value time. (and it’s having great results)
If you are messaging us on WhatsApp and forgetting which group you messaged because you joined them all, It’s probably not the event for you.
You do not need to dress up for the meeting; please come as yourself and don’t be shy if you have a business in the adult space.
