Mindset – Success leaves evidence, I am always following successful people to learn their mindsets, to align my thinking with theirs, to copy their habits and to try to reverse engineer their achievements, I do not mean copy people, but take the best bits. I often get told I am different, excessively motivated with a growth mindset, since I have been following successful/rich/hugely driven people on youtube, I have been able to get confirmations for a lot of my habits, mindset and “risky” behaviour. If you want to be the 1% you need to act like one. I am still reading books to improve myself, still reminding myself, practising, looking for occasional confirmations, so I don’t listen to the majority of people and get disabled or side tracked in the correct path. I am writing my own book with my own message, ideas and observations. I have a few ideas for people to get on the right track. Motivation – A few friends said they have never met anyone as driven as me, but the reason why is that I listen to motivational, self development, mindset videos daily. It gives me the daily medicine that I need to push myself. People ask me why do I need to watch motivational videos because I am motivated already, people say they don’t work because many people watch it and take no action. Motivation is only good if you have a goal, a process to get to that goal, so its only part of getting you to the place you think you want to be. I was conditioned all my life, that money is for rich people, we need to get a trade and work 9-5 pm and that was the way life is. Around the age of 23 I woke up and washed away my limiting beliefs, I have been trying to uncondition myself from all that childhood conditioning, to keep my motivation, drive, growth to suit my ever moving goals. But constantly being aware that happiness is paramount, but at the start we sometimes need to do stuff we hate doing to get to another level. (like working long hours in a bad job) Discipline – I have a few tricks to get my discipline back, I am losing it sometimes. I always say the brain is like a muscle, if you don’t use it, then it starts underperforming. For example at one stage I was struggling to make decisions, I was getting angry with basic decisions, I wanted to avoid them at one stage, then I suddenly started making decisions fast and firm with little hesitation, my decision making was back again now that it had been exercised. Likewise with discipline/mental strength, one bad habit can ruin everything for me, just stopping going to the gym is a loss of discipline, then it quickly manifests in other areas, many fitness/athletes/sports people know that if they stop training, their diets suffer, other habits return and the entire discipline/mental strength is now out of sync and you need to get that muscle back into shape by making a hard, fast and strong decision and taking action. Self-development – This subject is almost cult like, probably because its addictive, needed daily and it opens deep wounds for people. It gives people the realisation that they can do big things and that they are letting themselves down. Its almost like “oh your into all that self help s**t” or why isn’t all the people that read these books successful. The reason why is because very few people learn to take action, they buy time with the excuse they need to learn, practise more, but they are missing opportunities and wasting time. Self-development can mean different levels for people depending on their goals, but some people have no goals, dreams, so they need to remove limiting beliefs to actually start getting those goals, then you need to learn a mindset to get there, create a path, targets for different timeframes and then the process needed to get there, once you have all that figured out, you need to make daily checklists that become daily habits. The sooner you start looking long term, the sooner you will start winning..
